Six Month Check Up

Abbigail had her 6 month check up a few weeks ago and I am just getting around to posting about it. Everything went well and she only cried for a few minutes with her shots. She is getting such a personality now and wants to be held all the time. She can sit without support now and loves to be in her walker outside.

Ryan is getting so big

So Ryan decided a few weeks ago that he wanted to take off his training wheels. So we took them off and after a few tries he was off on his own. He was so proud he wanted to show everyone how big he is.

Happy Halloween

This year Abbigail was Tigger and Ryan was a green skeleton. We were going to go around the whole block but Ryan was done with one street. I think he enjoyed being at home passing out candy then going from door to door getting it. Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!

Abbigails Blessing

We finally had Abbi's Blessing, thanks to Jeni letting us crash on Hayli's. It was really nice to be able to do both of them on the same day in my Mom's ward in Snowflake. Thanks to everyone that was there. Love all of you!

Check-Ups

So Ryan and Abbi had there Doctor check ups today. Ryan was so scared and upset that he was going to have to get shots all day and then we he got them he didn't cry at all (he was very brave)

Ryans Stats:

Height 39" = 10% percentile

Weight 38lbs 8oz = 50-75% percentile

BMI 17.8 = 95% percentile

We had to do the hearing test twice because the nurse told him to raise his hand every time he heard the beep and he would just sit there and she would ask him if he heard it and he would say yes but never raise his hand ( he is so shy sometimes but we finally got him to raise his hand) So even though he is short for his age he is good and healthy.

ABBI STATS

Height 25 1/2" = 75-90% percentile ( don't know how that happened)

Weight 14lbs 14 oz = 50-75% percentile

Head Cir 41 cm = 25-50 percentile

She has been very irritable lately do to already teething (according to the doctor) so with shots on top of that she did not have her best day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better! Other then that both kiddos are happy and growing strong! Updated pictures coming soon!!!

Pioneer Days

That had to hurt!

Pioneer Day Celebration has got to be one of my all time favorite holidays. I usually always try to make it to Snowflake for the Celebrations. This year Ryan was really old enough to enjoy all the activities. Friday night we went to the rodeo and Ryan was able to go out and chase the chickens. He was upset that he did not catch one but is enthusiastic to try again next year. Alex did the grocery race with Choc and Mickey. They were doing really well but fell off right at the end. Saturday we went to the Parade and then to the park to see all the fun things at the booths ( I did see a cute hat that I had to buy for Abbigail) Then Saturday night we went to the Rodeo and I was a little nervous about the fireworks because they always scared Ryan until this year but Abbi did really well sleeping through the whole show and Ryan kept telling me how pretty they were. Then Sunday I was able to go to church with my parents and listen to the speakers. They talked about our Pioneer ancestors and shared some stories of their ancestors. I always get really emotional and love talking about our pioneer ancestors because it always reminds me of what they went through so that I could have the gospel in my life. I always have to question how I am living my life as well. Am I living up to the legacy they left me? I always have a new determination to live my life in a way that would make them proud, and to show them how thankful I am of the sacrifices they made for me.

50 years and going strong

My Grandparents who I love dearly just had their 50th Wedding Anniversary a few weeks ago. We had a dinner for them that turned out wonderful. I hope they know how happy I was to be able to be their and enjoy that moment with them. Sitting there it was so amazing to think that most of us there would not be if this two people had not gotten together so many years ago. How thankful we all are for that choice they made so many years ago and the love they have shared ever sense. I love you both!!!

Wal-Mart Shareholders

Cody also had the oppertunity at the beginning of the month to attend Walmarts Shareholders meeting in Arkansas. Each store only gets to send one person to this event so it was exciting that Cody was choosen to attend this. There he got to see more stars then I think I will in my whole life. A few that he saw were Sugarland, Ben Stiller, and Brad Paisley. Here are a few pictures of the event.

2 Month Check Up

Abbigail had her 2 month old check up last week (i'm a little slow with the posting) and everything went well. She did have some cradle cap so the doctor prescribed a shampoo that cleared it all up in a few days. Her weight was now at 12lbs 12 oz putting her in the 90%, her height is 23" putting her in the 90% again, and her head circumference is 39cm putting her in the 50% so as you can see she is definitely growing. She did get her first immunizations and did not like them at all. I have posted a picture of her and her cute little bandaged legs for all to see.

1 Month Check Up

So Abbigail had her 1 month check up last week and she is growing and gaining weight well, in fact the doctor was amazed because she has put on a little over 2lbs in a month. Her Height is now 21 1/4 inches putting her in the 50%, her weight is 11lbs 2 oz putting her in 90-95%, and her Head Cir. is 36 cm putting her at 25%. So she is doing well. Ryan learned his right and left this week ( I am so proud of him). I hope to find the time to take some pictures to post soon.

We are all home and healthy

Wow what an experience the last couple of weeks have been. I look back now and am so thankful for how everything seemed to work out despite the circumstances. Just to update everyone a few weeks ago my legs started swelling and my right leg got very hard and red and caused so much pain that it was hard to walk. After showing my doctor at my appointment she sent me start to the emergency room to have it tested for a blood clot. After having different tests they said they could not find a blood clot and to contact my doctor the next day. I then contacted my doctor who had me go back to the hospital for more tests. After those tests they admitted me into the hospital to have my leg treated for a blood clot as well as an infection called Cellulitis. After a weekend in the hospital being monitored and tested they decided that it was just an infection and put me on an antibiotic. During the next week my leg still did not get any better in fact it got worse and I started having times where I lost my vision in my right eye completely. During my next appointment they had me go to an vascular surgeon thinking that maybe it had something to do with my veins and blood flow. The Vascular Surgeon could not find anything wrong with that so my doctor then had me go back to the hospital. This time when tested my liver enzymes where high as well as my white blood cell count and I had protein in my urine. Which confirmed that I had Preeclampsia. Of course the only way to get rid of this was to deliver the baby so after an Ultrasound they decided to take the baby at 35 weeks. Of course I was really nervous because I wanted her to be ok but I didn't have much choice as my leg was getting worse and my health was putting me and the baby in jeopardy. So my doctor admitted me to the hospital again and would be back in the morning to induce me. I guess my body was already ready to have the baby because that night my water broke and they had to go ahead and start the induction. It only took a few hours and I was fully dilated and they were going to call the doctor. The Nurse was making a final check and felt something so she called the charge nurse in to check me and when Cody very calmly to pull the code button and in a matter of minutes they had the baby out with an emergency c-section.
We were very blessed to find out that the only problem that Abbigail had was her blood sugar levels due to my gestational diabetes. She had to stay in the Ni cu until they were able to get them under control and stable. After a rough recovery I was able to come home on Wednesday April 22nd (Ryans Birthday) and Abbigail was finally able to come home on Friday April 24th.
Looking back I see that the Lord was looking out for a little family so much, and we feel very blessed to all be home and healthy now. As you can see from Cody's post earlier she was born April 18th at 5:07am and weighed 8lbs 10oz.
I also feel very thankful for my husband and the way he took charge and handled everything. For those of you that don't know Cody is working, going to school Full-time and still manged to stay at the hospital with me pretty much most of the time to get me what ever I needed. Still found time to plan and get Ryan presents for his birthday in between work and school. He did all this never complaining once.
I also want to thank everyone that has helped me and my family through this time. We have been so blessed with so many friends and family that have been so willing to help with everything.
Well now that I am feeling better I will try to keep everyone updated and post a lot more pictures.
